When you're managing a large volume of transactions in Stessa, making individual edits can be time-consuming. Use bulk editing to quickly update categories, payees, dates, notes, and more across multiple transactions—up to 50 at once.
Why Use Bulk Edits?
Stessa’s auto-categorization feature does its best, but some transactions lack enough detail to be categorized automatically. If you're working with many uncategorized or incorrectly categorized transactions, bulk editing can help:
Speed up the cleanup process
Standardize categories for recurring transactions
Update transaction details in fewer clicks
Important: No Undo for Bulk Edits
There is no “Undo” or “Back” button for bulk edits.
Be careful when making large changes.
Steps to Use Bulk Editing:
1. Go to your Transactions page.
2. Select the checkbox next to each transaction you want to edit.
3. Once selected, click Pencil Icon at the top right of the page to edit.
4. A fly-out editor will appear on the right-hand side of the screen.
5. Make the desired changes (e.g., category, payee, notes, etc.).
6. Click “Save” to apply your changes to all selected transactions.
Search & Filter First for Precise Edits
Use filters to narrow your transaction list before applying a bulk edit. For example:
