Does Stessa charge a convenience fee for rent payments?
Yes. Stessa applies a convenience fee to rent payments, depending on the payment method used.
Convenience Fee Details
How much is the convenience fee?
Credit or Debit Card: 3% of the rent amount
ACH (bank transfer): $2 per transaction when paid to an external bank account
Exception: ACH payments made to a Stessa Cash Management account don’t incur any fees for residents. Debit or credit card payments into either a Cash Management account or an external account still incur fees.
Who pays the convenience fee — the landlord or the tenant?
Tenants pay the convenience fee.
Are there any fees for landlords to receive rent?
No. Stessa Rent Collection is free for landlords. Using a Stessa Cash Management account provides additional benefits, such as eliminating ACH fees for tenants, making it a more cost-effective option for rent collection.

How do tenants pay rent via ACH?
Link a bank account in the Stessa resident portal by verifying with banking credentials or microdeposits.
Once linked, authorize the rent payment via ACH.
How do tenants pay rent via credit or debit card?
Add card details in the Stessa resident portal.
Once validated, authorize the payment using that card.

Is the convenience fee refundable?
No. The convenience fee is non-refundable, even if the rent payment is canceled or reversed.
Can landlords disable certain payment methods?
No. Landlords can’t disable payment options at this time.
Where can tenants see the convenience fee before paying?
Tenants see a full fee breakdown, including the convenience fee, in the Stessa resident portal before confirming their rent payment.
