Stessa Pro FAQs

Stessa is free to get started and offers two optional premium plans—Manage and Pro—designed for landlords and investors who want more advanced tools for banking, reporting, rent collection, and leasing.:

How do I upgrade my Stessa subscription?

To upgrade:

  1. Log in at app.stessa.com

  2. Go to Settings > Subscriptions

  3. Choose your desired plan and payment method

Note: Upgrades can be made via the web or iOS app. Android upgrades are not currently supported, but once subscribed, Pro features will be available on all platforms.

How much do the plans cost?

  • Manage Plan: $12/month (billed annually)
    Includes:

    • eSigning with DocuSign

    • 60+ legal forms & templates

    • Schedule E report

    • And more

  • Pro Plan: $28/month (billed annually)
    Includes all Manage features, plus:

    • Unlimited portfolios

    • Advanced reporting (e.g., SREO)

    • Unlimited smart receipt scans

    • Priority support

    • Higher APY on Cash Management

    • And more

How do I pay?

You can pay using:

  • A major credit card

  • Funds from your Stessa Cash Management account

Payments are managed on the Settings > Subscriptions page. All plans renew automatically unless canceled in advance.

How do I cancel or downgrade?

To cancel or downgrade your plan:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscriptions

  2. Select Cancel or choose a different plan

Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. No partial refunds or prorated credits are issued.

Will I get a refund?

  • Annual plans: No refunds for unused time. Cancellation stops renewal at the next anniversary date.

  • Monthly plans: You’ll retain access until the end of the current billing month.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Your data—including custom portfolios—will remain intact. However, after your subscription ends:

  • Your account reverts to the free Essentials tier

  • Pro and Manage features become unavailable

  • If you resubscribe later, your features and configurations will be restored

Can I change my payment method?

Yes. To update:

  1. Go to Settings > Subscriptions

  2. Select Modify Payment Details

  3. Choose or add a new payment method

Can I buy a subscription for a collaborator?

Not directly. However:

  • Collaborators you invite to a portfolio you own will share access to your subscription’s features for that portfolio

  • They’ll need their own subscription to unlock Pro features for portfolios they own

What are the benefits of a paid plan?

Compared to the free Essentials plan, subscription plans include:

  • Unlimited receipt scanning

  • Advanced reporting (e.g., Schedule E, SREO)

  • Higher APY on Stessa balances

  • eSigning & leasing tools

  • Priority phone support

  • Multi-user collaboration

Will I be notified before I’m charged?

  • Monthly plans: Renew automatically with no prior notice

  • Annual plans: You’ll receive a reminder email before renewal

How do I access Pro features?

Once your payment is processed:

  • Features are instantly unlocked

  • You may need to refresh your browser to see the updates

Is there a free version of Stessa?

Yes, Stessa Essentials is free and includes everything you need to get started with Stessa, from asset management to accounting and banking functionality.
