Stessa becomes exponentially more powerful once your accounts are connected and properly configured.
All connections are managed via your Connected Accounts page. To access this page from within Stessa, click the circle icon in the top-right corner, select 'Settings,' and then click 'Connected Accounts.' For access via the mobile app, open Stessa and locate the 'Connected Accounts' section directly on the interface without any additional navigation. You can use this page to update your connected account information information as required for seamless transactions.
Editing a Connected Account
To update or refresh the connection:
Navigate to the 'Connected Accounts' page.
Find the account in question and click the vertical three dots.
Click Edit Login and re-enter your credentials.
To update an account’s settings:
Hover over the account
Click the blue pencil icon to the right
In the Edit Account menu, you can:
Change the account name
Update import preferences
Reassign the property
Click Save to confirm your changes
To stop tracking a financial account:
Go to the 'Connected Accounts' page.
Locate and hover over the account you wish to stop tracking.
Select the edit (pencil) icon and choose one of the following options:
"Exclude from Stessa": Stops tracking new transactions but preserves historical data.
"Stop importing": Fully halts syncing for the account.
Save the changes to finalize.
Assigning Financial Accounts
One Financial Account → One Property
Set the account to “Import Automatically”
Assign it to the corresponding Property
By default, Stessa will attempt to import up to 6 months of historical data, depending on your financial institution's availability.
You must configure each individual account—even if multiple accounts belong to the same financial institution.
One Financial Account → Multiple Properties
If a single account includes transactions for multiple properties:
Set the account to “Import and Review Manually”
Assign individual transactions to the correct properties via the Transactions page
This gives you full control over property-level assignment for each transaction.
Multiple Financial Accounts → One Property
If you manage a property using multiple financial accounts:
Assign each account to the same property with “Import Automatically”
There’s no limit to the number of financial accounts you can associate with one property
Uploading Transactions via File

FAQ: Managing Bank Connections
What if I want to link a new bank account?
You can add a new bank account by going to the "Connected Accounts" section and following the prompts to set up the connection. Be sure to finish any required configurations to ensure seamless transaction imports.
Will stopping imports delete old data?
No, using the "Stop Importing" option does not delete previously imported data. Your historical transactions will remain visible in your Stessa account.
What happens if I delete a bank connection?
When you delete a bank connection, all previously imported data will be permanently removed and cannot be retrieved. We do not recommend deleting bank connections.
