The Stessa mobile app (iOS and Android) is a powerful companion to the full web platform. While not all web-based features are available in the app, mobile users can still manage key tasks like receipt scanning, viewing reports, and editing transactions while on the go.
What features are available on the Stessa mobile app?
The mobile app supports many Stessa features, including:
Receipt scanning
Viewing reports (Income Statement, Net Cash Flow, etc.)
Editing, categorizing, and managing transactions
Viewing portfolio dashboards
Features only available on mobile:
Receipt scanning: You can snap and upload receipts to automatically create or attach to transactions.
How do I update the Stessa mobile app?
Keeping the app up to date ensures better performance and fewer bugs. Turning on automatic updates ensures you're always using the latest version of the app.
On iOS:
Open the App Store.
Search for “Stessa.”
Tap Update if available.
Enable Automatic Updates: Settings > App Store > Enable App Updates
On Android:
Open the Google Play Store.
Tap Apps, then search for “Stessa.”
Tap Update if available.
Enable Automatic Updates: Google Play > Profile > Settings > Network Preferences > Auto-update apps
How do I scan receipts in the mobile app?
Stessa's mobile app is the only place to scan receipts.
To scan a receipt:
Tap the “+” icon or go to the Transactions screen.
Select Scan Receipt.
Snap a photo of your receipt.
Stessa will:
Attach it to an existing transaction (if matched), or
Create a new transaction with auto-filled details like date, amount, and vendor.
You’ll see a green checkmark when the scan is successful.
Can I view reports on the mobile app?
Yes! Reports are mobile-optimized.
Directly viewable in-app:

Net Cash Flow
These support horizontal scrolling and include clickable data points that link to specific transactions.
