What If I Receive an Error That Says "Property Address Not Found"

If you're seeing a "property address not found" error when trying to add a property, it usually means the address couldn't be validated through our third-party verification systems. Here are the most common causes and steps you can take to fix it:

Possible Reasons:

  1. Address Validation Error: Stessa uses trusted external services to validate property addresses. If the address doesn’t match what’s on file in those systems, it may be rejected.

  2. Incomplete Address: Missing information like a unit number, ZIP code, or city can prevent validation.

  3. Formatting Issue: Certain abbreviations (e.g., “Ave.” vs. “Avenue”) or special characters can cause validation to fail.

  4. New or Unlisted Property: If the property is newly constructed or not yet listed in databases like USPS or Google Maps, it might not be recognized yet.5. Using a Placeholder Address: If your property is new or doesn’t exist in the system, you can use a placeholder address temporarily (e.g., '123 Data Dr Rancho Cordova CA, 95670') until the property can be formally validated.

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Double-Check the Address: Confirm the full address is entered accurately — including unit/suite number, city, state, and ZIP code.

  2. Try Alternate Formatting: Slight changes to the format (e.g., spelling out "Street" instead of "St.") can help.

  3. Validate Manually: Look up the address in Google Maps or USPS ZIP Code Lookup. If there are differences in formatting, try entering the address the same way it appears there.

  4. Still Stuck? If none of the above work, contact our support team with a screenshot and the full address you're trying to enter — we’re happy to help!

  5. Manually Add a Placeholder Address: For newly constructed or not-yet-listed properties, use a placeholder address (e.g., '123 Data Dr Rancho Cordova CA, 95670'). Ensure the Zillow link is included, if available, and reach out to support for backend assistance.
