If you’ve already connected your AppFolio owner’s portal to Stessa and successfully imported data at least once, skip to Staying Connected.
Getting Connected
Stessa connects to AppFolio owner’s portals only, not property manager (PM) dashboards or other AppFolio interfaces.
Before you start:
Ensure your PM has enabled the Owner’s Portal.
Confirm you can log in directly at a URL like:
https://yourPMname.appfolio.com/Verify reports are published to the portal. Stessa pulls data from reports only—not individual transactions.
If no reports are available, contact your Property Manager to request monthly reports be published.
To connect AppFolio in Stessa:
Go to your Connected Accounts page.
Click “+ Property Manager.”
Enter your Owner’s Portal URL, email address, and password.
Once connected, click “Link a Property” to associate the connection with your property or properties in Stessa.
Staying Connected & Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Stessa checks your AppFolio owner’s portal regularly for new reports. New data is typically imported once per month, around the 15th–20th, for the prior month’s activity.
If your connection shows:
“Action Required” or
“Two-Factor Auth Required”
Click “Fix It” to re-enter your login credentials and refresh the connection. After re-authentication, it may take a little time for Stessa to retrieve and parse your new data.
AppFolio requires re-confirming 2FA every 30 days.
