Adding Leases and Tenants

Updated this week

Step 1: Add or Edit Units

Before adding a lease, make sure your units are set up:

  1. Go to the Properties tab.

  2. Select the property you want to manage.

  3. Scroll to the Units section.

  4. To edit a unit, click the three dots () on the right.

  5. To add a new unit, click the Add New Unit button.

Step 2: Add a Lease

Once your units are set up, follow these steps to add a lease:

  1. With a property, click the Leases tab.

  2. Click Add New Lease to create a new lease

  3. From here you will be prompted to enter:

    1. Lease Details including lease documents, lease dates and rent amounts

    2. Fees and Deposits including any recurring fees

    3. Tenant details including name, email address and/or phone number

    4. Rent collect options

If you don’t have tenant information yet, you can enter and save the lease details only. This will create a lease that you can add tenants to later.

Updating and Transitioning Tenants

When a tenant moves out or their lease expires, you do not need to delete them outright to make room for a new tenant. Instead, you can simply create a new lease under the same property. This can be achieved by revisiting the leases page and clicking the Add New Lease button to assign a new tenant as required. This process keeps your system updated while preserving historical tenant data. Note: Be sure to set the move out date on the expired lease for the previous tenant.
